Honestly, I think any of your cars would look good lowered with a mild amount of camber. You should do it.

I’m considering getting racelands for the rabbit. It’ll never be fast enough for handling to matter anyways.

or, you could not ruin your car. there’s always that option.

Have you seen my fleet? They’re all pretty ruined already

I just Googled Raceland. Very reasonable prices.

I think the cabrio would look pretty good slammed.

They’re about as good a ride as one could expect out of a $400 coilover. I know a guy with a set of Ultimos that are maxed out and he says his ride isn’t that bad.

That’s what I’m leaning towards doing honestly. It’s already got bigger wheels on it (15s instead of the stock 13s!) so I may as well lower it and put some spacers on.

Lowrider>Stance

see... lowriders
are
stance though
![]() 01/07/2020 at 12:08 |

Lowriders are the antithesis of stance.
![]() 01/07/2020 at 12:12 |

It’s not stance unless it’s static and has nasty camber. I don’t LOVE street cars with 3mm of ground clearance and I will honk at their glacial diagonal traversing of rail tracks and driveways and mock them, but they are not stanced.

As long as you don’t stretch lil tires on wide rims and camber it (extra bad if you only camber the rear wheels on your FWD car) I support a tasty wheel gap. I’m a degenerate who likes hater pipes and I think the shoe test dictates the perfect wheel gap
![]() 01/07/2020 at 12:14 |

No, low is low. It’s not a hellaflush camber type of stance, but it’s stance nonetheless.
![]() 01/07/2020 at 12:15 |

Hellaflush is not the only type of stance.

Are you a shareholder in his fleet? If you’ve seen some of the shit the previous owners of my cars have done (and what I have done) you might redefine ruined!

I’m personally not a huge fan of cutting sheet metal to route an exhaust, but there’s an argument to be made in favor of side dump behind the front wheels.
Ideally I’d have a little bit of tuck and camber within spec.
![]() 01/07/2020 at 12:22 |

You own a VW so I think you’re an authority on this by default

*3 VWs

I vote airbags for the rabbit, it would cost more than racelands but you’d be slammed.
![]() 01/07/2020 at 13:12 |

but I could just be slammed and static with coilovers? My ideal ride height would be a touch higher than this with a bit less rim:
maybe shaved bumpers. Maybe.
![]() 01/07/2020 at 13:42 |

But you could lay frame when you park....
![]() 01/07/2020 at 13:48 |

I can do that static though
![]() 01/07/2020 at 13:57 |

no but I have to share the road with unsafe shitboxes that are stanced, so i have an objective dislike of it.
![]() 01/07/2020 at 13:58 |

have you tried doing better?
![]() 01/07/2020 at 16:19 |

Not everyone is as fortunate as you buddy
![]() 01/07/2020 at 16:35 |

I agree about the wicked camber being dangerous, then it’s my business and deserves to be berated and mocked. That being said I have recently learned that ‘stanced’ doesn’t always mean wicked camber like I thought
See my second point with regard to unsafe shitboxes, just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it can’t hurt you.

Sweet baby Jesus. Are the post Mk3 Golfs as unreliable as people say?
![]() 01/07/2020 at 17:48 |

I’ve driven my share of shitboxes with questionable mods (see my first car: 96 grand am se 4 door 4 cyl auto, complete with ebay short ram, fart cannon at the end of stock exhaust, and neons everywhere), but i’ve never made it handle worse on purpose.

I own two Mk1s and a Mk3.
Where are these reliable pre-Mk4 VWs you speak of?
